You may soon be paying a tax on your monthly charges for streaming services.

Governor Janet Mills, in her supplemental budget proposal, includes a tax on all streaming services such as Netflix and Spotify.

As an example, WGME says if you pay $20 for Netflix now, you would be charged an additional $1.50.

The Department of Administrative and Financial Services says this is estimated to generate about $10 million a year.
