Acts of Kindness and Gratitude Day on November 1

Acts of Kindness and Gratitude Day is planned for Lewiston on November 1. It is one week since the tragic mass shooting incident in Lewiston that claimed 18 lives.

From Lewiston City Adminstrator Heather Hunter:

As we approach the one-week anniversary of this tragic event, I urge each and every one of you to take a moment to offer an act of kindness. It need not be a grand gesture; in fact, sometimes it’s the small acts that have the most significant impact, like help a neighbor with their trash, let someone cut in front of you in line, make someone laugh, share your umbrella, compliment a stranger, simply smile at the next person you see, or leave a sweet note on someone’s vehicle windshield. If you need a way to express some kindness, Lewiston will have limited #OneLewiston stickers.

These small acts of kindness make a big impact and will help illuminate the path forward from the dark days we have all recently experienced. Therefore, I humbly request that you join the City of Lewiston in marking Wednesday, November 1, as an Act of Kindness and Gratitude Day. This will not be a one-time event but rather an annual occasion for our community to come together and celebrate the spirit of kindness and unity. And, if you can, we’d love to see your Acts of Kindness and Gratitude by using #OneLewiston and tagging the Official City of Lewiston on social media platforms. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your unwavering support and the love you have shown for your fellow neighbors during these challenging times.
