By a unanimous 9-0 vote, the U.S. Supreme Court today, March 4, ruled that states can’t invoke a constitutional provision to keep presidential candidates from appearing on ballots.

The outcome officially ends efforts in states, including from Maine’s Secretary of State Shenna Bellows, to stop Donald Trump from being on the Republican primary ballots. States cited what they claimed was the former President’s role in the attack on the Capitol, Jan. 6, 2021.
