The Coast Guard this afternoon (Dec. 3) suspended the search for missing boaters off the coast of Sprucehead because of a probable hoax.
The Rockland Coast Guard is looking for the public’s assistance in trying to identify who made the distress call. Anyone with information can call the Coast Guard at 207-596-6667.
This was the call:
