A shooting on Knox Street in Lewiston Sunday, July 30, is being investigated. Two people died in the incident.

On Sunday, July 30, 2023, shortly after 10:18 am, the Lewiston Police Department responded to a shooting complaint on Knox Street in Lewiston. One individual died on Knox Street and the second person died at Central Maine Medical Center after being transported from the scene. The State Police and Lewiston Police are currently working a death investigation involving the two victims. The bodies of the two victims will be transported to the Maine Medical Examiner’s Office where the identity, cause and manner of death will be determined. The investigation has shown this to be an isolated incident and there are no known threats to the public at this time.
