The Maine Bicentennial Commission is scheduling for later this year a “200-Plus-One” campaign. A tentative schedule includes a Maine Statehood Day Ceremony during the summer in Augusta, a parade in Lewiston/Auburn and a “Time Capsule Sneak Peek and Participation Kickoff” some time in the spring.
From The Maine Bicentennial Commission:
Maine’s Bicentennial Commission regrets that most events planned to celebrate Maine’s 200th birthday are on hold because of the COVID-19 crisis. We are working on alternate plans and timetables to give Maine’s 200th anniversary of Statehood the celebration it deserves.
