Two people were arrested this week from a home in the rural Northeastern Penobscot County Town of Lee from which MDEA investigators believe that a significant amount of fentanyl was being sold.

At approximately 8:00 pm, MDEA agents, assisted by the Maine State Police Tactical Team and the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant on the residence of 27-year-old Tom Lee Severance located at 3040 Lee Road in Lee. The search warrant was the result of a several months long investigation by MDEA’s North Central Task Force related to the sale of significant amounts of Fentanyl brought to the residence by out of state traffickers and distributed throughout Penobscot County. The investigation included several undercover purchases of drugs from the Lee Road home.
Occupying the Greenbush home and charged with Class A, Aggravated Drug Trafficking
offenses last night were:
1. Pedro Manuel Sanchez Lugo- 36 years old of the Dominican Republic. No bail.
2. Tom L. Severance – 27 years old from Lee, Maine. Bail was set by a bail commissioner
at $35,000 cash.Charges on the pair were aggravated due to the quantity of drugs that were seized along with the
presence of firearms. Both are scheduled to make an initial court appearance Friday in Bangor.
Seized as part of the Lee investigation, was approximately ½ pound (250) grams of fentanyl with a street value of $37,000, along with approximately $20,000 in suspected drug proceeds. In addition, investigators located an illegal sawed-off shotgun, along with a 9mm semi-automatic and a .38 special revolver.
This investigation is continuing, and more arrests are likely.
