Be aware of yet another phone scam throughout the area. Scammers are acting as unemployment or social security representatives and asking for personal information.
Mix Maine Media received calls from listeners yesterday about a similar scam involving scammers claiming to be from the Maine Department of Labor.
Never give out your personal information and never buy gift cards for scammers who may threaten you. Find the number for the specific department and call them directly.
