A Freeport man is reportedly in critical condition after an explosion at Dave’s Junkyard on Allen Range Road in Freeport.
From Maine State Police:
…today (May 26) at 8:58am, Freeport Fire and Police Departments responded to 13 Allen Range Rd. in Freeport on a report of an explosion. The location is the site of Dave’s Junkyard. Responding crews discovered that a 60 year old male had been working with an excavator on the site and punctured a cylinder of flammable gas. The excavator operator was transported to Maine Medical center with burns to face and arms and is in critical, but stable condition. A team of investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office is presently on-scene investigating the incident. Freeport was assisted by Brunswick FD and also a representative from OSHA.
