This week (March 22) a Maine State Police Trooper stopped a vehicle for speeding on I-95 in Kennebunk. Two juvenile males and two adult males were in the rental car.
From the Maine State Police:
Through the Trooper’s investigation three loaded handguns were seized, two of which had rounds in the chambers. One of the handguns was reported stolen from Saco in a motor vehicle burglary. Also seized from the vehicle was 18 grams of cocaine base (crack) and 2 grams of fentanyl.
Three of the occupants were arrested. After contacting juvenile probation one juvenile was released to a parent. One juvenile was transported to the Long Creek Youth Development Center in South Portland. He appeared in court Thursday morning and was released to his parents on house arrest.
18-year-old Abdulkadir Ahmed of Lewiston was transported to the York County Jail. He was charged with Felony Receiving Stolen Property (Firearm), class B crime. He was released Thursday on $5000.00 cash bail.
The fourth occupant has not been charged at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
