Good luck to Dolly Pawton and Aura!
According to centralmaine.com, they are both service dogs that will be competing to win in the 2020 American Humane Hero Dog Awards. The awards will be on the Hallmark Channel, in a two hour show, this fall.
The dog with the most online votes will take home the title of American Hero Dog.
Aura is a 7-year-old Labrador retriever/golden retriever mix from Brunswick. She serves as a hearing dog for Gretchen Evans, who lost her hearing in Afghanistan.
Dolly is a 3-year-old Lab from Naples that is trained to aid Amy Sherwood, who has cardiac problems.
Votes can be cast once a day through Sept. 10 at HeroDogAwards.org.
