Politico is reporting that Maine Senator Angus King could be a prominent member of the Senate Intelligence and Armed Services committees in a Joe Biden Administration.
If the independent was confirmed to an executive branch position, Gov. Janet Mills would get to appoint his successor. In 2022 a special election would then take place to fill the remainder of King’s term.
