An eight-year-old girl Monday (Feb. 8) fell from a chairlift at the Sugarloaf ski resort.

According the Sun-Journal, ski lift attendants placed a mat below her chair after her mother noticed she wasn’t properly strapped. The mat helped to break her fall from 20 to 25 feet.

She was taken to the hospital after complaining of back pain after the fall.

Lift attendants deployed a net called a “catch mat” below the girl’s chair to break her fall. She was reported conscious and alert when she was being transported to the hospital.
